My Favorite Books of 2019

Hello, everybody! Today I’m sharing my favorite books that I read in 2019. Most of them were released in 2019,  but some were released earlier. These are also in no particular order. I was able to narrow it down to my top 10, but not beyond that. Let’s get started!

  1. The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson: I read this because I watched the show and loved it, and while it was a very different feel (fewer jump scares, more subtle horror), the horror was believable and well-executed. haunting of hill house
  2. The Kill Club by Wendy Heard: Check out my blog tour post. This was just incredible! Kill Club
  3. The Quite Nice and Fairly Accurate Good Omens Script Book by Neil Gaiman: Neil Gaiman’s commentary added to an already wonderful show! Neil said that he did this to honor Terry Pratchett, and I think the script book amplified the success of the show. download (32).jpg
  4. Funny, You Don’t Look Autistic by Michael McCreary: This was an amazing and relatable story of growing up autistic! If you’re looking to read more books about autistic people (especially BY autistic people), you should definitely check this out! download (33).jpg
  5. Miranda in Milan by Katherine Duckett: This was an amazing take on The Tempest that gave Miranda the agency that Shakespeare didn’t, and I loved this look at Miranda. download (34)
  6. Red, White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston: Forbidden love with a hint of Enemies-to-lovers! So completely my jam! Alex, Henry, and their friends were incredible, and the politics were well-done. download (2)
  7. Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating by Christina Lauren: Josh and Hazel are adorable and watching them go from denying attraction to each other to dating is quite delightful! not dating
  8. The Fifteen Wonders of Daniel Green by Erica Boyce: This was a great story of family conflict and its resolution, as well as what family will do to take care of each other. I love it so much, and I look forward to Boyce’s next book. download (35).jpg
  9. Here and Now and Then by Mike Chen: This was an incredible story of time travel, family, and a father’s efforts to save his daughter and have a relationship with her even though it breaks the rules. download (36).jpg
  10. Mooncakes by Wendy Xu and Suzanne Walker: This was super cute and made me so happy the whole time I was reading it. mooncakes
